Eriobotrya japonica Native globe-shaped crownA quick growing, evergreen plant best grown in a sunny location ideal against a sunny wall. Large leaved foliage gives a tropical effect. Clusters of strongly fragrant hawthorn like flowers after a hot summer followed by (if another tree is close by) unique edible orange or yellow fruits. Excellent in pots. Can usually withstands brief exposure to temperatures below 5C, but survival cannot be guaranteed in these conditions. RHS hardiness rating: H4
