The quartz sleeve surrounds the UV lamp inside the BioShield sterilizer, transmitting ultraviolet light into the water flow while isolating the lamp from direct water contact. A cracked, clouded, or mineral scaled sleeve reduces UV transmittance and compromises disinfection output.
