Ferrules date from the '20's or '30's as they are the "pot belly" type seen on older Payne and Leonard rods (I love the sculptural touches found on these early catskill tradition rods)

The MacKenzie 5 reel uses an adjustable cork disc drag allowing for incredibly smooth use with little to no start-up inertia as well as great tippet protection

Orvis Battenkill 7'6 2/2 5wt Bamboo Rod 7'10" Ferrules date from the '20'sFor sale here is an impregnated Orvis "Battenkill" 7'6" 2 2 5wt bamboo rod with a listed weight of 3 7 8 oz. Serial #73719. Made in 1974. The rod is in excellent original+ original condition with one exception. A guide on one of the tip sections has been replaced, repair work masterfully performed by Mike Clark at South Creek Ltd. All sections are full length and straight.
